Hi this is kinda weird but I am a cousin from Ventura, Ca and would like to get in touch. You played against our cousin before the Olympics in Oklahoma her name is Tisha Duran she played for UCSB. If you wanna say hi please do! My family and I followed your games in China everyday and cheered you on and are so proud to have an Olympian in the Duran Family. Thank you very much for taking extra time at the PFX McKinney this past weekend w/my daughter. I know that she will always remember the t-shirt over the center field fence, the batting w/ the pros, and the many -many autographs that you signed for her this past weekend. It is players like you that keep young girls interested in softball competition! (she speaks to her friends of you as "My new friend Tina". JD

It was not last summer but summer before last in Marietta, Ohio that we took our daughter to watch the tourney. He ASA team was not in it but she had friends that were and was on cloud nine to get to meet everyone. She is a HUGE Jessica Mendoza and Laura Burg fan. We sat in the outfield and she had personal contact not too mention she got the home run ball that Jessica hit that day. This was a wonderful experience not just for her but for myself and my husband to get to see her face and watch her reaction to everything that she was allowed to experience that day. I just want all of the pfx team to know what a thrill it was and how much our family took away from it. Thank you all

Batting

hi this is Caitlin Wise and I am 16 years old and I love softball! I have been having some problems with my batting. I tend to drop my shoulder and just use my upper body and not my legs. I was wondering if you have any things I can work on or thing that i could do to help me be a better batter. I have all ready recorded my self batting but it only helped a little. I just need to know if you would have any drill I could do.

Hitting Advice

My daughter is 13 years old. She is a pitcher and outfield. Her game is great until she comes up to bat. Her head coach and I have explained to her what the problem is with her swing. We keep using terms like your opening up to soon and you are hooking. She is not getting it and she is becoming more and more frustrated. What is the best way to get a kid to not open her hips to soon? She is a small kid with enough heart and desire to put one over the fence, but as you well know that's not enough if your swing is wrong. I think if I could find a way to communicate to her how to fix her problem it would make the whole game more fun for her. We will be at PFX this weekend and I would love for her to have some good at bats. Can someone please help me with those magical words?
